Profile: Swee Huat Heng (SHH) has been in the gas industry for more than 25 years. It started of as a distributor for Shell Singapore in the late sixties supplying gas to domestic, commercial and industrial sectors. It was until 1985, after understanding the needs of the gas industry and through careful sourcing of overseas suppliers, SHH took the bold step forward to replace its existing gas supply business with solely supplying of gas burners to all the gas distributors in Singapore. By 1988, SHH has become one of the major suppliers of gas burner for the Public Utilities Board (PUB) Gas Department (now known as PowerGas Ltd) and it has also expanded its business into the Malaysia market by exporting a wide range of gas burners to their local wholesaler. SHH continues to export burners to Malaysia until 1992, when it decided to go into joint-venture with a Malaysian and a taiwanese company to manufacture gas regulators for Malaysia market. It has also set up an engineering company in Singapore with couple of technicians to provide technical support for its trading company in the installation works. Today, SHH is still very active in the gas industry. Its engineering company now employs more than 40 personnel comprising of a group of Engineers, Technicians and Plumbers to carry out various types of gas installation and servicing work ranging from simple installation of gas pipe and burners for for domestic to complex design on installation of booster and pipeline for boilers and furnaces for the industrial sectors. SHH is currently one of the major supplier and term contractor of PowerGas for supplying gas burners and laying of gas pipe respectively. And also owing to success in the manufacturing business in Malaysia, it has started to set up another manufacturing plant in Thailand to produce regulators for the market there. With its achievement in Singapore, both in the trading and engineering aspect in the gas industry, SHH is looking forward to put its pools of knowledge and expertise into the Malaysia and Thailand markets.We have expanded into manufacturing of electric instantaneous water heater and have with us a wide range of home appliances under the brand name of Aerogaz.
